Potters Bar Evangelical Free Church

"Behold I lay in Zion the chief cornerstone"

PBEFC started as a united free church just before the Second World War.
It was formed by the local Free Church Council to serve the estates then being
developed at the western end of the town.

Under the name of the Cranborne Gospel Mission a Sunday school was started in
Cranborne School and soon afterwards adult services were held.

After the War the church moved to the community centre at Elm Court where services were held until 1973.

The present building was built in 1973 by the then pastor Mr William Rutherford and Co.
